Visva-Bharati molest row

Santiniketan, Aug. 26: The doctor at Visva-Bharati’s Pearson Memorial Hospital accused of molesting an American music student denied the charges and said he will press defamation charges against her.

The doctor today appeared before an inquiry committee formed by the vice-chancellor.

The accused, who obtained anticipatory bail from a Bolpur court yesterday, denied trying to molest Amber Field, a first-year student of Sangeet Bhavan.

“She (Field) did come for the examination and I asked her if she was physically fit. I issued the necessary papers and she left my chamber,” he said.
