Bhutia not to be released before September 4

East Bengal have left it on Bhaichung Bhutia to decide whether he will join Perak FC of Malaysia for a two-month stint. However, the club officials made it clear that the striker won’t be released before the September 4 derby against Mohun Bagan.

“He returns on Friday from Sikkim and we’ll let him know about our stance,” a club official informed. He further pointed out that Bhaichung received the Fifa permission to play for the Malaysian club because East Bengal had given their no-objection.

Junior football

Eight teams will participate in the all-Bengal junior (under-16) knockout football meet in Chinsurah, which starts on Friday. The matches will be played in the Chinsurah Maidan, the final slated for August 31.
