The Changing Room

Kinaetma Theatreís The Changing Room explores stories from Ovidís Metamorphosis through text and physical action, impersonations and decisions. Metamorphosis is one of the best classical sources that explores 250 myths. Ovid believed in art for pleasureís sake, having no ethical agenda for his writing. The 75-minute play connects mythological stories from Creations, Echo and Narcissus, Pygmalion and Myrrha. The entire production will be accompanied by live music. Directed by Nigel Ward, faculty, theatre, University of Wolverhampton, UK, the play features Konkona Sen Sharma, Royona Mitra (also from University of Wolverhampton), Mrinalini Sen, Bikram Ghosh, Debasish Sen Sharma and others. Prior to the show, the group worked at the Calcutta International School for over two weeks, constantly evolving and working on the various aspects and fine-tuning the play till they were all satisfied with the final version. Presented by British Council in association with Patton Limited.
