Husain) celebrates his 88th birthday with “Four Suites of paintings comprising 88 Husains in oils 003.” Till August 30 at Chitrakoot Art Gallery; 3 pm - 8 pm: An xhibition of paintings on Shree Krishna titled Muraliya Bajere Jamuna Ke Teer featuring paintings of Early Bengal School as well as Jamini Roy, Ramananda bandopadhyay and Subroto Gangopadhyay. Till August 31 (except Monday) at Birla Academy of Art & Culture; 4 pm - 8 pm: Young Faces in Contemporary Indian Art features the works of a host of upcoming artists from different parts of the country. Subramanyan, Shyamal Dutta Roy, Suhas Roy and Sunil Das. kids’ corner

August 22 at Sasha, 27 Mirza Ghalib Street; 5 pm: Sasha hosts a ‘Crafts Week’ for children till August 26. This evening, veteran artist Shuvaprasanna will inaugurate the pottery-making session for children. Seasoned craftspeople will be present at the premises with a potter’s wheel and clay to guide the children. On display will be toys made of glazed terracotta. Folk music, story telling, toy exhibition and other events are on the cards.

August 22 at ITC Sonar Bangla Sheraton; 6.30 pm: The National Institute of Fashion Design (NIFD), Lindsay Street, hosts its annual event Tomorrow Makers 2003, the graduation show for passing out students. Choreographed by Marc Robinson, a select group of reputed models will showcase the creations in 30 sequences.
