CAB XI in full control

Bangalore: CAB XI gained a 22-run first innings lead after dismissing Indian Airlines for a paltry 94 runs on Day I of the semi-final of the KSCA invitational meet on Sunday. At stumps, CAB XI were 116 for three.

Indian Airlines, winning the toss and batting first, had no answer to off-spinner Sourasish Lahiriís (4/22) guile.

Shabir Ali, Laxmi Ratan Shukla and Utpal Chatterjee also claimed two each.Nikhil Chopra (16) was the highest scorer for Indian Airlines, who collapsed in just 41.5 overs.

Though CAB also had a shaky start losing opener Amitava Chakraborty (6), Arindam Das (26) and Aniruddha Roy (65 batting) steadied the ship.

In the other semi-final, Railway Sports Promotion Board were 12 for no loss at stumps, after restricting KSCA XI for 182.

Kulamani Parida scalped three conceding 81 while J. P. Yadav and Santhosh Sanu shared two each.
