Old man kicked to death

Calcutta, Aug. 10: A 65-year-old man died at his residence at Taltala in the city after he was allegedly assaulted and kicked out by some of his relatives tonight.Seikh Nassem, a resident of Aga Mehendi Lane, used to live in a joint family.

His cousins had long been trying to take possession of the room where he used to live.

They had earlier threatened him to vacate the room but Nassem had refused to do so.

The police said some of Naseemís relatives forcibly entered his room and asked him to leave immediately. When the old man denied to do so, they lunged at him. He was literally kicked out of his house.

Nassem fell down on the floor unconscious. By then, residents had gathered. He was rushed to hospital. The old man was declared brought dead.

Nassemís son, who was not at home at the time of incident, lodged a complaint station alleging that his father was murdered. By late night, the police had arrested three persons in connection with the incident.
