Heat bothers players in Lucknow camp

Lucknow: The hot and humid weather is affecting the Indian hockey team which is undergoing an intensive training camp for the Champions Trophy, with Dilip Tirkey being the latest to suffer from dehydration.

Tirkey had to be admitted to a hospital on Tuesday but was discharged on Wednesday after his condition improved.Some other members including goalkeeper Devesh Chauhan and captain Dhanraj Pillay suffered bouts of illness earlier. Harpal Singh, another member had to be admitted to hospital after sustaining a head injury on Tuesday.

The team is scheduled to leave for Holland on Sunday. Amstelveen will host the Champions Trophy. (PTI)
