VHP meet

New Delhi, Aug. 4: With Ayodhya dominating the Parliament session and the uncertainty over when the Lok Sabha elections could be held, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has convened a meeting of its apex decision-making body, the marg darshak mandal, here on September 13 to decide its future course of action, reports our special correspondent.

VHP sources said the agenda would be to evolve a strategy to pressure the political establishment to “act” on the Ram temple front by bringing a legislation in Parliament to facilitate temple construction.

This is the VHP’s first meeting after the death of Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas chairman Mahant Ramchandradas Paramhans.

first occasion when the VHP brass congregates after the July 10 meeting of the high-powered agitation committee which passed a resolution for a law on temple construction and handing over of the mosques in Varanasi and Mathura. It would also be their first meeting after the death of the Ramjanmabhoomi Nyas chairman Mahant Ramchanderdas Parmahans.

The September 13 meeting would be preceded by another sitting of the agitation committee.
