New Delhi, Aug. 4: The Supreme Court today issued notices to the government and the ministry of disinvestment on a petition challenging a decision to disinvest its stake in Jessop & Company.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice V. . Khare and Justice S. B. Sinha, however, did not grant any interim stay order, thereby not disturbing the ongoing process of privatisation.
The notices were issued after hearing counsel Deepankar Gupta for petitioner Jessop & Co’s staff and government counsel Maninder Singh.
The Chief Justice observed that clear-cut guidelines have been laid by the court in its judgement on the disinvestment of Balco.
