Ceat net profit at Rs 6.37 cr

Calcutta, July 29: Ceat Limited, an RPG group company, has posted a 7.05 per cent growth in net profit Rs 6.37 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2003, as compared with Rs 5.95 crore in the corresponding previous period.

The net sales of the company grew 6.75 per cent in the first quarter. The company has witnessed sales of Rs 376.04 crore against Rs 352.23 crore in the previous fiscal.

The company has posted a higher other income in the current fiscal at Rs 64.56 crore as against Rs 3.35 crore in the previous fiscal.

Phillips Carbon Black

Phillips Carbon Black has registered a 202 per cent rise in net profit Rs 5.53 crore for the third quarter ended June 30, 2003, against Rs 1.83 crore in the corresponding previous period.

However, the turnover of the company has gone down marginally by 4.12 per cent to Rs 126.50 crore in the third quarter as compared with Rs 131.94 crore in the previous fiscal.
