Kaif scores breezy 31

London: Mohammed Kaif made a breezy 31 as Derbyshire scored 281 for four in reply to Durham’s first innings score of 501 for eight declared, at close on the third day of the four-day county cham pionship second division match at Derby on Saturday.

Australia’s Michael di Venu (143) put on 197 runs for the opening partnership with S.A. Selwood (62) for Derbyshire.

The four-day tie between Yorkshire and Hampshire in another second division match petered out to a draw. Yorkshire declared their second innings at 211 for four, with Yuvraj Singh yet to open his account.

In reply Hampshire made 170 for six at close.
