Mohammedan AC stop Ever-Ready

Ever-Ready’s inspiring run in the CFL Super Division came to a surprise halt on Saturday when they lost 1-2 to Mohammedan AC at Mohun Bagan ground. Amal Dutta’s team had earlier drawn with Mohun Bagan and shocked Mohammedan Sporting in the span of a week.

However, on Saturday, Ever-Ready could not keep up the momentum. Nazim-ul Haq and Arup Das scored for Mohammedan AC while Biswarup Bishu pulled one back for Ever-Ready.

CAB AGM

Jagmohan Dalmiya was unanimously re-elected president of the Cricket Association of Bengal for another term in the Annual General Meeting on Saturday. Meanwhile, Chandi Ganguly became the chairman of the trustee board. The post fell vacant following the resignation of Biswanath Dutt.

While Bablu Kolay and Sudhir Chakraborty continue as joint secretaries, Amitava Banerjee stays treasurer.

EB reception

The IFA has planned a “royal reception” for East Bengal following their triumph in the ASEAN Club Championship. “It’ll be something unprecedented,” IFA secretary Subrata Dutta said. Dutta also called up East Bengal coach Subhas Bhowmick and congratulated him.

CSA best

Calcutta Sports Association (CSA) scored a thumping 7-3 win over College Square Swimming Club to emerge champions in the South West Rotary water polo meet, held at Kidderpore Swimming Club on Saturday. Rafique Sheikh, who scored 2 goals for CSA in the final, was adjudged the man of the match.

Inter-club darts

Dakshin Kalikata Samsad (DKS) bt Dalhousie Institute 3-1 in their group stage match in the third inter-club darts championship at International Club on Friday. DKS will face CC&FC in the quarter finals.
