New Delhi, July 24: Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited (RLL) has recorded a 42 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 196.8 crore for the second quarter ended June 30 against Rs 138.4 crore in the same period last year.
Net sales after deducting trade discounts increased 21 per cent to Rs 827.7 crore from Rs 683.1 crore during the second quarter review period.
Domestic sales at Rs 305 crore, recorded an increase of 15 per cent, while export sales at Rs 553 crore, registered a growth of 23 per cent.
The half-yearly net profit rose 104 per cent to Rs 476.6 crore from Rs 233.3 crore. Sales also rose by 53 per cent to Rs 1852.6 crore from Rs 1212 crore in the half-yearly review period.
The domestic drug major announced that the earnings per share on fully diluted basis was Rs 10.57 for the quarter as against Rs 7.45 for the corresponding period last year.
The company also announced the consolidated global results for the quarter and also for the half year ended June 30, 2003.
The net consolidated sales of RLL and its subsidiaries was put at Rs 1135 crore, registering a growth of 24 per cent. The consolidated global net profit was Rs 206 crore for the quarter.
