Titles for Anindita, Anirban

Anirban Nandy and Anindita Chakraborty won the menís and womenís singles titles in the all-Bengal Annapurna table tennis tournament in Howrah on Monday. In the finals Anirban beat Amit Das, while Anindita beat Avanti.

Dutta stable

Veteran football coach Amal Dutta underwent bypass surgery at Apollo Gleneagles Hospital on Monday. His condition was stated to be stable and will be discharged in the next seven to ten days. This is according to a release from the hospital.

Sangma tops

City boy Rahul Sangma emerged champion in the schoolsí chess tournament in Dhaka recently scoring a maximum of nine points, according to information received here. He now has an Elo rating of 2282.
