Itanagar, July 19: Arunachal Pradesh governor V.C. Pande and chief minister Mukut Mithi today made an aerial survey of flood-affected East Siang, Lohit and Lower Dibang Valley districts.
Besides surveying the inundated areas, they stopped over at Pasighat, Tezu and Roing.
Though the water level of the Siang, Lohit, Dibang and their tributaries has considerably receded, the floods have destroyed roads, bridges, water channels and hydel-power stations in various places. Pasighat, Roing and Tezu have been cut off from the rest of the state.
Asias longest Bailey bridge over Deopani, about 2 km from Roing, has been damaged, snapping road communication between the upper reaches of Lower Dibang Valley and Upper Dibang Valley.
Mithi announced Rs 20 lakh for providing relief to the villagers in the submerged areas, especially East Siang district.
