Ground for dig & leave complaint

The civic authorities, the CESC and, the post and telegraph department often dig up city roads for work. But seldom do they bother to fill up the pits or remove the dug-up earth elsewhere. A few days ago, I had spotted cables sticking out of the ground on Justice Chandra Madhav Road, near Northern Park. If the authorities concerned do not conduct immediate repairs, more people are likely to be dragged into accidents.

The stretch linking Jessore Road and VIP Road, passing through Lake Town, remains congested with traffic from early morning to late in the night. Recently, fresh permits had been issued to new bus routes on this stretch, which has only aggravated the problem. As the new routes pass through educational institutions, traffic sergeants must be deployed in adequate number to ward off any untoward incident.
