AOL to hire 400 more for local centre

New Delhi, July 15: America Online Member Services India (P) Ltd, a subsidiary of AOL and providers of interactive services like web brands, internet technologies, e-commerce services today announced plans to add about 400 staff as part of the expansion of its local operations.

The company’s expansion plan covers a wide spectrum of initiatives; innovative campaigns to attract and retain the best talent in the industry, adaptation of industry best practices, training and development to position the centre as one of the leading customer service centres in the world and expansion in the scope of work done in Bangalore to include other product and technology-related projects.

Maneesh Dhir, vice president and country head, India operations AOL said: “Our positioning in the industry in India is unique. We are not only the leading internet brand globally, we are also part of the AOL Time Warner group, the world’s largest entertainment and media company. Being an in-bound member services centre, we also cater to the individual and unique needs of 35 million worldwide subscribers of America Online.”

Neil Smit, executive vice-president, member development, Lloyd M. Wirshba, senior vice president, AOL member services and Dhir, were present in Bangalore today to celebrate the centre’s 1,500 employees.

The Bangalore facility of AOL is located at the International Tech Park.
