Title for Paes-Rikl

Calcutta: Leander Paes annexed his 27th ATP career doubles title on Sunday, beating the Czech Republic pair of Frantisek Cermak and Leos Friedl, with Czech partner David Rikl in the Swiss Open final in Gstaad.

According to information received here, the top seeds tamed the fourth-seeded Czechs 6-3, 6-3 in a rather one-sided final of the grasscourt event. It was just the kind of change Paes needed after losing the Wimbledon semi-final against Mahesh Bhupathi and Max Mirnyi.

Bhupathi, meanwhile, has ruled out an Indian reunion until the end of this year.
