Anindita, Sayantika in final

Anindita Chakraborty will meet Sayantika Kundu in the women’s singles final of the Ballygunge Institute table tennis championships. In the semi-finals Sunday, Anindita beat Avanti Sinha 9-11, 11-8, 11-4, 5-11, 10-12, 11-8, 11-4 while Sayantika overcame Kanchan Basak 11-4, 10-12, 6-11, 9-11, 11-8, 11-9, 11-5.

In the sub-junior girls’ final, Sreya Ghosh will take on Agamani Mitra.

Schools’ soccer

Agarpara Mahajati Vidyapith overcame Santipur Hindu High School by a Shankar Oraon goal to emerge champions in the North 24 Parganas leg of the Britannia Anandabazar Cup inter-district schools’ football meet Sunday.

In the Chinsurah leg final, Hooghly Bansberia HS beat Burdwan Bhita Institute 3-1, via the tiebreaker. Bapi Sil, Sujit Dey and Subhankar Bag scored for the winners while Bappa Acharya pulled one back for Bhita Institute.
