India open on Aug. 16

Colombo: In what is being seen as a step forward, specifically in relation to Indo-Pak cricket ties, its been decided that the first annual tri-series between the A teams of India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be played in Sri Lanka from August 15-22, the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka (BCCSL) announced Thursday.

This tri-series concept was mooted and agreed upon during the recent ACC meeting in London.

India will open their campaign against Lanka August 16.

The seven-match event will rotate between the three countries over the next three years.

THE ITINERARY

Aug. 15: Pak vs Lanka; Aug. 16; India vs Lanka; Aug. 17: India v Pak; Aug. 18: Pak vs Lanka; Aug. 19: India vs Lanka; Aug. 20: India vs Pak; Aug 22: Final. (agencies)
