Summer Interlude

“How contemporary is contemporary art' Artists Circle was born out of a desire to make a thorough study of Indian art over the years in order to perceive the different trends in its development and to view the art of today against the broad perspective....” Its on-going inaugural exhibition covers a wide range of activities from painting to temporal work, and represents the most visible trends in contemporary Indian art. Alok Bhattacharya, Amitabha Banerjee, Amitabha Sengupta, Anita Roychowdhury, Bijon Chowdhury, Dhiraj Chowdhury, Dipak Banerjee, Ganesh Haloi, Jogen Chowdhury, Lalu Prasad Shaw, Paritosh Sen, Prokash Karmakar, Rabin Mondal, Ramananda Bandopadhyay, Shuvaprasanna, Shyamal Dutta Ray, Suhas Roy and Sunil Das are all acclaimed artists and their works form part of an internationally fluid scheme of ideas and interventions. Viewing these works of art is like witnessing a tableaux of history of Indian art.
