Iraq debate

New Delhi, June 24: Even as the Prime Minister is toying with the idea of convening an all-party meeting to evolve a consensus on sending troops to Iraq, seven non-Congress parties today asked the Centre to declare that India will not be part of the US occupation force, reports our special correspondent.

A joint statement signed by the CPM, the CPI, the Janata Dal (Secular), the Lok Janashakti Party, the Rashtriya Janata Dal, the Samajwadi Party and the RSP said: “Any other stand amounts to the infringement of parliamentary privilege as Parliament had passed two resolutions condemning the attack.”
