Match called off

The IFA Shield cluster semi-final between Ever-Ready and Railway FC was abandoned due to bad light at Barasat Stadium Thursday. The teams were tied 0-0 after the first half of extra-time when the match was called off. It is likely to be replayed on Saturday.

No. 7 held

Most seeded players posted victories in the opening round of the National B selection chess meet at Gorky Sadan. Seventh seed Sourav Bose was held by Suddasatwa Das.

CAB seminar

The CAB has called a seminar for umpires on June 22. Fifty-four new umpires, who cleared the CAB examinations this season, will attend the seminar.
