E. Rly make cluster final

Eastern Railway Wednesday entered the final of the cluster meet of the IFA, beating Peerless 4-1 in the first semi-final at Barasat’s Vidyasagar Stadium.

Mohammed Fareed scored twice, while Somnath Pramanik and Kuntal Biswas scored for the winners. Babu Das Podder reduced the margin for Peerless.

In Saturday’s final Eastern Railway meet the winners of Thursday’s other semi-final, between Ever-Ready and Railway FC.

Goal spree

In the IFA league’s fifth division Wednesday Behala’s Dinabrata Ghosh scored four goals, including a hattrick, in their 4-1 victory over Moitree Sangha.

In the same match Biswajit Singh of Moitree was marched out for rough play.

Roypara win

Sinthee Roypara CCC won Wednesday’s under-13 cricket meet final, beating Sinthee Milan Samity by four wickets.

Brief scores: Sinthee Milan 191 (Arnab Mitra 69; Utpal Mahapatro 4/30). Sinthee RCCC 192/6 (Mahapatro 75 n.o,.; D Naskar 3/43).
