Income Tax women win

West Bengal Income Tax beat Mohun Bagan 6-4 in tie-breaker at Rabindra Sarobar Stadium Sunday to win the IFA Women’s League crown. Regulation time ended with the teams tied at 1-1.

Mohun Bagan took the lead in the first half through Swapna Guria, before Shilpi Deb of Income Tax equalised. In the tie-breaker, Income Tax converted all five of their shots, while Swapna missed the target for Mohun Bagan.

Under-16 chess

The All-Bengal under-16 rapid chess tournament, organised by Barisha Netaji Sangha in association with Alekhine Chess Club, will be held at the club premises from Friday to Sunday.

The nine-round tournament offers Rs 23,750 in total prize money. Entries will be received at Barisha Netaji Sangha and Alekhine Chess Club till Tuesday. The meet will be inaugurated by GM Surya Sekhar Ganguly.

U-13 cricket

Sinthee Roypara CA have entered the final of the under-13 cricket meet organised by Sinthee Milan CA. They beat Dum Dum Mrinmoy CA by one wicket in Sunday’s match.
