Four armed miscreants stormed the office of Om Prakash Todi, a transport operator, on AJC Bose Road and made off with Rs 51,000 on Saturday evening.
The goons threatened the employees at gunpoint to empty the cash box. An employee was hit with the butt of a revolver when he tried to resist them. The Ballygunge police are conducting a probe, though no arrest has been made in this connection.
Station heist: Burglars
raided a ticket counter at Barasat railway station and decamped
with Rs 6,000 on Friday night. Acting superintendent of
GRP Satinath Banerjee, however, said: “The railway authorities
have sent us a memorandum on the matter. But theft of money
has not been mentioned.”
Baguiati bank robbery: Two
of the six-member gang that had raided Sagar Gramin Bank
near Baguiati on Friday have been identified, police said.
A motorcycle was also recovered.
