New Delhi: Gurbinder Singh, the only wrestler to have represented India in the Olympics, sailed into the semi-finals of the 16th Asian wrestling championship Thursday. He defeated Kazakhstan’s Behaliev Kanat 6-3 in 66 kg category in Greco-Roman style.

Kripa Shanker Patel, however, had a mixed day. He won 4-0 over Firos Refael Khaled of Syria before losing his first match against Korea’s Yang Jae-hoon in the 55 kg free style.

Among women, Gitika Jakhar beat Kazakhstan’s Alexandza Boginskaya in the 63 kg free style category to reach semi-final. (PTI)
