Soma manages a bronze

New Delhi: Long jumper Maha Singh won India a silver at the Asian Grand Prix second leg meet Sunday, even as the squad’s overall performance took a dip. Maha Singh leapt 7.50m to finish behind Mohammad al Khuwalid of Saudi Arabia (7.96).

The only other silver came in the men’s 4x100 relay where the Indians clocked 41.41 seconds.

There were five bronze medals for India — Soma Biswas in 100m hurdles (14.68 secs), Anil Kumar in discus (57.96 metres), Sanjay Ghosh in 100m (10.86 secs), Harminder Singh in javelin (65.84m) and the women’s 4x100 m relay team. (PTI)
