Port trust in clean-up

Calcutta, May 23: Calcutta Port Trust will supply oil-spill dispersant to the coast guard to tackle leakage of fuel oil in Segitiga Biru, the Indonesian ship that developed a leak and went down about 120 km from Haldia.

“The port trust has started taking steps to ensure that any oil spill is taken care of,” its spokesman said here today. “We had contacted the insurers of the ship to supply the dispersant but there was no response.”

Doctor held

Medical officer of Ranaghat hospital Rahman Alam was arrested from Hooghly this evening for his alleged involvement in the murder of surgeon Chandan Sen.
