Doctor murder accused held

Ranaghat, May 22: The driver of a medical officer of the Ranaghat Subdivisional Hospital was arrested today in the Chandan Sen murder case.

The CID, investigating the surgeon’s murder on February 26, presented Abbas Ali Karigar in the Ranaghat sub-divisional court where he was remanded in police custody.

The driver of medical officer Rahaman Alam “was seen on the night of February 26, the day Sen was murdered, in the proximity of the house of Sunil Ganguly”, assistant public prosecutor Kalachad Bhawal said.

Sen’s body was found in a shallow pond near the house of Ganguly, a retired clerk of the hospital, on the night he had hosted a dinner party. Six persons have been arrested in the case so far.
