Malda, May 16: Police baton charged and fired warning shots as a victory rally taken out by the BJP and ally Trinamul Congress turned violent at Muchia village in the district today.

Asim Sikdar, brother of BJP leader Tapan Sikdar, was among those injured in the baton charge.
