Guadalajara: World champions Brazil were still looking for their first win under coach Carlos Alberto Parreira after being held to a goalless draw in a friendly in Mexico Wednesday.
In Tripoli, Argentina needed two goals in the last half hour to beat unsung Libya 3-1. The Czech Republic were 4-0 winners over World Cup semi-finalists Turkey. France were without several leading players but still cruised to a 5-0 home win over Egypt while Spain notched up a 4-0 victory at home to Ecuador.
Nyon: Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson was fined 10,000 Swiss francs ($7,375) by Uefa Thursday for remarks suggesting the Champions League quarter-final draw had been rigged. Ferguson had been charged over remarks in British newspapers last month which Uefa had said “cast doubt upon the integrity of the draw.”
Spokesman Mike Lee said Uefa had taken into account that Ferguson had been fined previously for untoward comments.
