May Day

Chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee will attend the May Day celebrations, organised by Paschimbanga Sramik Kalyan Parshad, at Rabindra Sadan at 4 pm.

Music

A programme to mark 60 years of the singing career of Manna Dey at Netaji Indoor Stadium, 5.30 pm.

Seminar

A seminar on ‘Challenges of the present: my role’, to mark the foundation day of Bharatiya Bhasha Parishad, on the premises at 5 pm. Speakers include writers Bani Basu and Anita Agnihotri.

Tagore

An exhibition of books by and on Rabindranath Tagore will be opened at Tagore Research Institute, Kalighat Park, at 5 pm.

Art watch

An exhibition of posters by M.F. Husain at CIMA Gallery from 2 pm to 7 pm. An exhibition of small-sized drawings and paintings at Vikalp Art Shop, Swabhumi, 3 pm to 8 pm.
