Murder mystery twist

Ranaghat, April 17: The Chandan Sen murder case took a new turn today with an accused expressing willingness to turn approver.

Apurba Sanyal, the social welfare officer of the sub-divisional hospital here, was today produced before the magistrate of the sub-divisional court. He was put into “segregation” for two days.

Assistant public prosecutor K.C. Bhawal said Sanyal had confessed before CID officers yesterday that he knew about the events that took place in the house of the head clerk of the hospital on the night the doctor was murdered. Sen went to the house of the clerk, Sunil Ganguly, for a dinner party to mark the latter’s retirement. CID sleuths had arrested Ganguly on April 13.
