Muzaffarnagar: Top seed Rushmi Chakravarthy and second seed Sai Jayalakshmi advanced to the quarter finals of the ITF women’s circuit meet on Wednesday.
Rushmi disposed off qualifier Ludmila Rozsivalova of Czech Republic 6-4, 6-2, while Sai trounced Shurti Dhawan, last year’s winner, by an identical score.
The dream run of wild card Sasha Abraham of India came to an end when she lost to qualifier Katie Miles of Britain 3-6, 6-3, 0-6.
Also advancing to the last eight were Archana Venkataraman and the Israel’s Heti Bargil and Yael Glitzenshtein.
Archana won when fourth-seeded German Franziska Etzel retired trailing 2-6, 0-1. Hati beat Liza Pereira, and Yael dismissed the challenge of Natatie Neri of Britain 6-4, 6-2.
