Nestle under cloud
New Delhi, April 11: The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has slapped a notice on Nestle India after a complaint that the multinational has been selling underweight coffee packets. Consumer Education and Research Society, an Ahmedabad-based NGO, found that the average net weights of 10 packets of Nescafe Instant Coffee — manufactured by Nestle India — were less by over 2 grams than the label claim of 50 grams.
