Nestle under cloud

New Delhi, April 11: The National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has slapped a notice on Nestle India after a complaint that the multinational has been selling underweight coffee packets. Consumer Education and Research Society, an Ahmedabad-based NGO, found that the average net weights of 10 packets of Nescafe Instant Coffee manufactured by Nestle India were less by over 2 grams than the label claim of 50 grams.

Bed linen spat

New Delhi, April 11: The European Union today said it would abide by the World Trade Organization ruling that has favoured India on the bed linen dispute.

London, April 11: The hearing in the extradition case of Senthil Kumar, chief of the Dutch subsidiary of Indian software firm, i-flex, has been postponed to May 2.

Maruti Alto

New Delhi, April 11: Maruti Udyog today launched a special limited edition of its premium small car Alto LX. Christened Alto Celebration, the 800cc car would be available in two variants at Rs 3.02 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and Rs 3.22 lakh for the one with an electronic power steering.

Bangalore, April 11: Karnataka minister of state for civil aviation and infrastructure T. John today said the engineering and technical side of the ambitious Bangalore international airport project was in an advanced stage of preparation.
