Children die in wall collapse

Jhargram, April 11: Three children died and three were injured when the wall of an abandoned building collapsed on them in Binpur police station area last evening.

Police said the condition of the injured children, admitted to the Binpur rural hospital, is critical. “Around dusk yesterday, the children were playing near a building in Dangarpara village that had brick walls held together with mud. The walls, possibly weakened by rain, collapsed on the boys,” said Asish Roy, the officer-in-charge of Binpur police station.

Jawaharlal Tudu, 12, and Aditya Soren, 5, were killed on the spot. The others were rushed to hospital by villagers. Ten-year-old Munna Singh bled to death in hospital, police said.
