New Delhi, April 9: The CBI today trapped a Congress municipal councillor on charges of accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a shopowner here, reports our correspondent.
The CBI said Hiren Tokas, the councillor of Ward No. 15 in the R.K. Puram area in New Delhi, had demanded Rs 50,000 from a shopkeeper as bribe to protect the construction from demolition.
The corporation was supposed to demolish his shop.
The shopkeeper, who lives in the same constituency, was to pay another Rs 20,000 two days later and the rest of the sum some time later, the CBI said.
