Hero Honda sales up

Hero Honda Motors has achieved a turnover of over Rs 5,000 crore during 2002-03 by selling 16.77 lakh motorcycles. The turnover rose from Rs 4,539.49 crore in 2001-02. Motorcycle sales were up 18 per cent as compared with 14.25 lakh units sold in the previous fiscal, a company release said. Detailed financial results would be announced after the company board meeting in April.

Tata Metaliks

Tata Metaliks has reported a 3 per cent increase in production at 138, 361 tonnes of hot metal in 2002-03 compared with 134, 159 tonnes in the previous fiscal.

SBI Life

SBI Life Insurance Company has introduced the facility of premium payment through credit cards for its customers. The company has tied up with Standard Chartered Bank to accept payments through all types of credit cards, both Visa and Mastercard.

ING Vysya Life

Chennai-based Bharat Overseas Bank has tied up with ING Vysya Life Insurance Company to sell the latter’s insurance products., the integrated online trading services, has introduced various schemes of HDFC Mutual Fund on its integrated mutual fund plaza to enable online investment in mutual funds.

Tata Tea, the world's largest integrated tea company, has been adjudged the runner up for the prestigious Mother Teresa Corporate Citizen Award 2002 for social responsibility.


IDBI Bank has appointed VistaFin to provide a single point interface for capturing sales / purchase / redemption information for all investment services managed by the bank. VistaFin is an enterprise wide relationship management platform developed by GISIL.

M&M vans

The farm equipment division of Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) has introduced mobile service vans. These vans will bring service to the farmer's doorstep.
