Bata India net loss at Rs 7.41 cr

Mumbai, March 28: Bata India Ltd has suffered a net loss of Rs 7.41 crore for the year ended December 2002 compared with a net profit of Rs 3.98 crore in 2001. The total income was down 10.39 per cent at Rs 660.33 crore against Rs 736.94 crore in 2001. The net profit and total income for the fourth quarter ended December 2002 stood at Rs 3.22 crore (Rs 5.66 crore in the fourth quarter of 2001) and Rs 170.21 crore (Rs 200.48 crore), respectively.

Japan soft loan

Mumbai, March 28: Japan has agreed to finance seven infrastructure projects worth Rs 4,417 crore as part of its Official Development Assistance programme. The 20-30 year term loan would carry an interest rate in the band of 0.75-1.8 per cent.

Crude price

London, March 28: Oil prices held firm today amid worries about a prolonged military campaign in Iraq and the stoppage of production in Nigeria following ethnic clashes. The US light crude touched $ 31.05, the highest price since the war began.

Saregama plan

Mumbai, March 28: Calcutta-based Saregama India Ltd, an RPG group enterprise, will form a subsidiary to venture into film production business.

Oil India target

New Delhi, March 28: Oil India Ltd (OIL) plans to produce 3.2 million tonnes of crude in 2003-04 against the current year’s estimate of 3 million tonnes.
