Bagan follow EB out

Tapan Memorial upset Mohun Bagan in the CAB knock-out Tuesday setting up a title clash with Tollygunge Agragami. Chasing 188 for victory, Bagan were all out for 185 in the fifth ball of the last over at the Eden Gardens.

BRIEF SCORES: Tapan Memorial 187/8 in 45 ovs (J. Mukherjee 37, U. Chatterjee 2/23). Mohun Bagan 185 in 44.5 ovs. (A. Banerjee 46, S. Das 35; S. Dogra 3/44). Tapan Memorial won by two runs.

NR women win

Northern Railway beat Eastern Railway in the inter-railway women’s cricket meet Tuesday.

BRIEF SCORES: Eastern Railway 175/6 in 40 ovs. (M. Sumru 90; R. Margaret 3/29). Northern Railway 176/6 in 39.4 ovs. (J. Sharma 61; M. Mohapatra 2/26). Northern Railway won by 4 wkts.

Beighton Cup

Bombay XI, Karnataka XI and All India Port won their matches in the Indian Oil Servo Beighton Cup Tuesday. All India Port defeated ERSA 7-6 in the tie-breaker (full-time 1-1), Bombay XI thrashed EME 4-1 and Karnataka XI downed Calcutta Customs 3-1.

Bagnan win

Bagnan College won the fourth non-government football championship organised by the Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math Monday. In the final, they beat Uluberia College 4-1.

Excise tennis

The Central Excise grass-court meet will take place at the Central Excise Tennis Complex from April 7-12.
