India go down to N. Korea

Calcutta: India started the Asian Cup championship campaign on a losing note, going down to North Korea 0-2 in Pyongyang on Monday.

According to information received here, the Jo Paul Ancheri-led side conceded the goals each on either side of their opening match in the preliminary qualifying round. The first goal came on the stroke of half-time and North Korea increased the tally in the 70th minute in the Kim II Jung Stadium.

India will host North Korea in the return leg in Goa on March 30.
