We shall overcome...

The artist in his work ought to be like God in creation, invisible and all powerful; everywhere felt but nowhere visible

— Gustave Flaubert

Here is a unique exhibition of paintings by a very brave and determined group of artists. These ‘children of a lesser god’ are a deprived lot but that has not deterred them from expressing their own universe — a unique, multi-coloured world where everything is arranged according to the artists’ own fancy. Far removed from the mundane rigours of daily existence, this is a dream world where one can peep in only when the creator wishes to share with his viewer his own private world of joy and grief. Asha Niketan, Calcutta, has been working with mentally challenged people since 1973. This exhibition showcases the creative expressions of the core members of the organisation.

When: Till today; 3 pm - 8 pm
