New Delhi, March 12 (PTI): The Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad and the Harkat-ul-Ansar have renamed themselves as Khaddam-ul-Islam and Jamiat-ul-Ansar, respectively.
According to the Pakistani Urdu daily, Khaberen, both the organisations have started preaching and organisational work to restore all former provincial and district units.
The reports said that at the central level, Maulana Farooq Kashmiri and Fazlur Rehman Khalil would continue to remain as the chief and secretary-general of the Jamiat-ul-Ansar.
However, Maulana Masood Azhar has been kept away from the Khaddam-ul-Islam. Maulana Abdullah Shah Mazhar, a Karachi-based cleric, will be the chief of the renamed Jaish outfit.
