Karnataka champions

Bangalore: Former Indian left-arm spinner Sunil Joshi’s six-wicket haul helped Karnataka inflict an innings-defeat on Kerala in the Ranji Trophy plate final Thursday. Joshi, who took six for 62 in the first essay, was in devastating form finishing with figures of six for 75. Both teams play in the elite group next season.

BRIEF SCORES: Kerala 190 & 204 (Hemanth Kumar 44, Suresh Kumar 33; Sunil Joshi 6/75, Udit Patel 2/ 72). Karnataka 405 (Arun Kumar 84, S. Shinde 84, T. Naidu 59; Ananthapadmanabhan 5/ 118). Karanataka won by an innings and 11 runs. (PTI)
