Going down the drain

FREE FLOW: Drinking water is wasted for want of civic sense

Arup Biswas: A massive project of Rs 200 crore has been taken up to supply water. But if minor care is taken, a large volume of water can be saved. Every day, water is wasted for the want of stopcocks.

Actually, this requires civic sense. The CMC provides stopcocks twice for every tap, but after that, it is not possible. Councillors should make residents of their area conscious of the waste.
