Crude stocks good: Naik

Nagapattinam (Tamil Nadu), March 1: India has sufficient crude oil stocks for two months and would not face any shortage even if a war broke in West Asia, petroleum minister Ram Naik said today. Naik said his ministry’s contingency plan allowed for importing crude from countries not located in the troubled zone, in the case of war.

Calcutta dock

Calcutta, March 1: Calcutta Dock Labour Board today started a comprehensive stevedoring service for the first time. The board has reduced the rates of handling salt, ICD containers, logs, foodgrains, fertliser raw materials considerably both on-board and on shore.

LPG deposits

New Delhi, March 1: The government has instructed the oil marketing companies to reduce security deposit on 14.2 kg LPG cylinder from Rs 700 to Rs 650 per cylinder for new domestic connections with effect from March 3, 2003.
