Pendse bail plea rejected

Mumbai, Feb. 24: The Delhi High Court today dismissed the anticipatory bail application of Dilip Pendse, former managing director of Tata Finance Ltd, against whom a non-bailable warrant was issued for his alleged involvement in misappropriation of Rs 2 crore in a group company. Justice R. C. Chopra dismissed the petition of Pendse, upholding the judgement of the Sessions Court, Patiala House, Delhi.

Dr Reddy’s suit

Hyderabad, Feb. 24: Dr Reddy’s Laboratories has filed a lawsuit seeking declaratory judgement against Pfizer in a US district court regarding its “abbreviated new drug application” for Sertraline HCL. The lawsuit seeks a declaratory judgement that the claims of certain Pfizer patents were invalid and/or not infringed.

Jute mission

Calcutta, Feb. 24: The Union textile minister Kashiram Rana today announced setting up of a Rs 450-crore jute technology mission to improve the quality of fibre. He also hinted a zero-duty import facility for import of fibre from Bangladesh.

RIL gas find

New Delhi, Feb. 24: The discovery of more gas in block D6 in the Krishna Godavari basin by Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has led to an upward revision of total in-place reserves in the block to 9 trillion cubic feet.
