Mahindra unit, UK firm in pact

Mumbai, Feb. 18: Mahindra Defence Systems, an independent division of Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd (M&M), has tied up with Lockheed Martin Information Systems of UK to jointly develop simulators for the Indian defence sector.

The synergy in areas of simulation and VR-based training system is expected to offer state-of-the-art simulators to the armed forces, particularly the army, senior officials said. M&M had set up this division in mid-2000 to develop products for the armed forces, para-military and police.
