Film festival:

A three-day film festival, “African-American in Hollywood cinema”, will be held at Rabindra Bhawan, Guwahati, from February 19 to 21. A package of five films including all-time great black American directors and actors — Paul Robson, Sidney Poitier, Whoopie Goldberg, Spike Lee and Denzil Washington will be screened at the festival. The documentary Black history and films and Malcolm X will be the inaugural screenings on February 19. Theatre workshop:

Nabik, a theatre group of North Lakhimpur, will organise a 30-day “Production-oriented theatre workshop” in association with the National School of Drama, New Delhi, as part of the yearlong centenary celebrations from February 28.
